Earth Day Activities for Kids: Let your Kids Change the World for Good

Earth day started on the 22nd of April, 1970. This has been a very important celebration for all of us ever since it began. Earth day is actually the perfect time wherein people can reflect or remember nature, environment and what they can do in order to keep them healthy and lush.
From the start, children, teachers and schools made activities to show their support and appreciation of this special day. And that really makes a lot of sense. Children should, from the very start learn how to keep Earth safe. This is because they will be the caretakers of this world in the future and they should learn how to nurture it at an early stage.
As a parent, you must teach your children about the proper care of our planet. Now, how can this be possible? You can accomplish this by teaching them of the different Earth day activities such as singing songs, making crafts and coloring pages or pictures, certain activities would provide the right education in this special day.
To make it a lot easier for you, below is a list of Earth day activities which could help you educate your children in maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of our planet.
• Recyling
If your kids have old objects and clothes which can be shredded, processed or melted, you can use them to make a new material. For example, she has an old can, a board and a box. Instead of throwing them all, ask your kid to recycle it by making the old can as a pencil dispenser, the board as a keychain holder and the box as a notebook organizer. This will require from her a bit of energy and mind power, but it is surely an ideal activity, your participation would also be most welcome.
• Reusing
Do not let your kids throw old things. Teach them the value of some things and money’s worth. Let them know that old things are not only meant for garbage. Reusing old things that are still in good condition is a good choice and more practical than throwing them all away.
• Planting of Trees
It’s the Earth’s day. Isn’t it a good idea to plant trees to show your gratitude to her? Buy some seeds and join your child in planting them.
• Clean and beautify the surroundings
Plan a clean up and beautification project with your kids. Let them know that cleanliness is important in making Earth clean and green. Since it is Earth day, it is just but appropriate to make her clean and beautiful.
• Craft
Let your children discover their creativity by asking them to draw the things they can see on Earth. The following are craft examples which are suitable for children of different ages. Use them to educate your children about Earth day.
1. The Bluster Cloud Craft
Bluster is a representation of the air. Ask your child to draw and color the Bluster Cloud. While your kid is busy making the craft, you can tell her about the unpleasant air pollution.
2. The Mother Earth Craft
Use this as your chance to talk with your child about our planet. You can also encourage her to take care of the planet even in simple ways.
These activities will surely help your children realize that keeping our planet clean is very important to each individual living in it. And in order to keep it healthy, some activities must really have to be done.
Your kids will be the future caretakers of this planet. Therefore, it is just important to let them know even at an early age, that cleaning and proper care and maintenance is one thing that can save the Earth from complete destruction.
